State executions resumed this week in the United States despite the botching of some earlier executions. States that condone and practice the execution of convicted criminals are openly defying their own written law.
Every nation in the world adheres to the basic principle of law that it is a crime to kill another person. Yet states that administer the death penalty as punishment are putting themselves above their own law by claiming such acts as 'legal'.
A state administration that translates written law differently for administrators and the administered can only be described as a 'rogue' state.
Regardless of how you look at it, killing is killing. Legalise one instance and the very foundation of law is itself then corrupted.
