The mainstream media in the west has made much hullaballoo over the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, and more recently in Algeria.
It is illuminating and indeed very significant that the same mainstream media has had little or nothing to say of the distinct possibility of similar events taking place in say Ireland, the United Kingdon, the United States and other developed western capitalist-driven societies, where the average person is now being forced to cover and pay the cost of greedy corporate excesses and corrupt politicians.
Tony Blair's public comment that the 'uprising in Egypt' will play a pivotal role in bringing democracy to the Middle East does little more than reveal that the man lives in cloud cuckoo land when it comes on down to what is really happening in his own country.
