been uncovered that have been operated by unscrupulous individuals falsely
claiming to represent charitable groups and cashing in on hardship and generosity
by putting money collected on-line into their own pockets. Please
ensure that you donate to a registered and recognised charity. All below

Catholic Agency
for Overseas Development (CAFOD) - UK
Working with Caritas International, a global alliance of Catholic aid agencies,
through local partners to provide relief and rehabilitation in Sri Lanka, India
and Indonesia.
CARE International
Delivering and distributing 200,000 water purification kits in Indonesia and
basic relief supplies in six areas of Sri Lanka. Providing emergency relief supplies
in hard-hit coastal areas in India, with the aim of reaching a minimum of 20,000
families. In Thailand, CARE is distributing first aid kits and other essential

(Tamil Nadu), Port Blair (Andaman and Nicobar Island) and Azhikal, Kurunagapally

clothing, bedding and other provisions to elderly people and their families.
HelpAge India aims to reach 6,000 families with immediate relief by mid-January.

An MSF team of eight, including three nurses and two doctors, has arrived in
Banda Aceh in northern Sumatra and set up a clinic in a camp for displaced people.
MSF is also sending a team to Sri Lanka, where it is focusing on medical care
for survivors and displaced people, and is conducting an exploratory mission

Has set up a field hospital in Aceh in Indonesia, and is working with partner
NGOs in Thailand's Phuket, Phi Phi and Ranoog near the Burmese border. Muslim

Foundation for Mine Action (FSD)
Helping the World Food Programme set up an urgent operation centre in Jakarta
to specialise in security and risk assessments for relief operations. FSD will
work to reduce the risk to relief workers and tsunami survivors of unexploded
ordnance in conflict areas such as Aceh in Indonesia. In Sri Lanka, FSD has moved
all existing resources to the Ampara district, a coastal zone south of Batticaloa
partly controlled by Tamil Tigers, at the request of the Tigers’ humanitarian
wing. FSD has been giving first aid to the victims, removing and transporting
the wounded, co-ordinating and distributing aid, clearing debris, removing bodies

counties. World Vision Foundation of Thailand has hired tents for 220 families
and paid for the construction of semi-permanent and wood homes. After distributing
