Judge Peter Thornton QC, sitting as HM Assistant Deputy Coroner for the City of London, today summed up in the inquest into the death of 47 year old Ian Tomlinson.
The coroner has announced that he will allow the jury to consider a verdict of unlawful killing. Other possible verdicts he will allow are misadventure; natural causes; or an open verdict.
The jury is expected to deliver its verdict next week, on or after Tuesday 3 May, the next day the court sits.
INQUEST has been working with Ian Tomlinson's family and their lawyers since his death.
